Spring Break Getaway Ideas
Spring Break is upon us, and this year’s will definitely be about taking care of our collective mental health. Travel restrictions and COVID-19 guidelines have made planning a typical family spring break a bit more challenging. So think about a different take on spring break where your family can have most of their fun outside.
A camping trip is a safe alternative for spring break this year. With hundreds of lakes, national parks, and campgrounds available across the country, you’re sure to find one that reminds you of your childhood. S’mores, hot dog roasting, campfire stories and fishing are just some of the childhood memories you can re-live with your own children.
Visit the beach this spring break, but pick an off-the-beaten-path part of the beach to visit. Staying outside all day playing in the sand and surf, and soaking up all that sun might be just what your family needs after being shut in all winter, glued to a screen.
Don’t want to get too far from home? Spend the week visiting your city like a tourist. Go for long walks in your city’s parks or at the arboretum. Eat at patio restaurants. Visit your city zoo. Enjoy outdoor theater or music where you and your family can be together, but safely distant from others.
Whatever you choose, taking a break from your daily routine will energize you and give you the opportunity to create spring break memories with your family.
